Stolen accounts tend to post scam links in every channel they can find. So we've added one channel nobody ever needs to post in, and anything posted there locks the account until it's safe again.
Keeping stolen accounts out
Never type in the do-not-type-here channel. Spam bots and stolen accounts post there, so anything posted in it locks the account: muted, roles taken off and off the whitelist until staff restore it.
If your account gets locked, you're pinged with what to do next. Change your Discord password, turn on two-factor authentication, read our internet safety guide, and open a ticket. Staff give back your roles and the whitelist in one go.
A locked account can't use the website until it's restored. Signing in shows what happened, the steps to secure your account, and a picture of what was posted from it. The internet safety guide stays open to read.
A sprout page says when an account may be stolen. Anyone opening it sees a note, so nobody trusts messages from that account until it's restored.
Pictures, checked in plain sight
You can watch your picture being checked while it uploads. Pictures for your page, your banner and your characters show a scan with each step ticking off: reading it, uploading it and checking it against our rules.
