Changelog messages in Discord use the new post titles
Notices
Changelog messages in Discord use the new post titles
A post in the changelog channel is titled like the site, "Rosa Update" with its date or "Rosa Patch Notes" with its month, and lists the first five things in it.
Changelog posts and patch notes are announced in Discord
Notices
The changelog channel now posts changelogs and monthly patch notes
Instead of a message for every version, you'll see each new changelog post, and the patch notes on the first of every month. Each one links to the full post on the site.

Rosa Terminal's messages are clearer and friendlier
We rewrote the replies about applications, the registry, reports and penalties so they say what happened and what to do next. Reports and penalties still mean exactly what they did.
Winning an appeal also ends the in-game ban, and staff actions check rank
Moderation
Winning an appeal now also ends your in-game ban
When staff overturn a penalty on appeal, your ban in Path of Titans now ends at the same time. Before, the penalty was withdrawn but you could still be locked out of the game.
A new Discord name or avatar shows up everywhere right away
When you change your Discord username, display name or avatar, the Reserve now saves it at once. Before, the old name stayed until you used a command or signed in to the website.
Buttons answer every press, also right after an update
Fixed
Buttons work again right after an update
Pressing a button on an older message, or while the bot restarts, no longer ends in "This interaction failed". Slow replies still arrive, and a button that no longer works shows a message saying so.
Accepted members are put on the game server whitelist, and bans keep their full reason
Fixed
Being accepted now puts you on the game server whitelist
The game server turned down every whitelist change the bot sent, so accepted members couldn't join. Everyone on the registry is now whitelisted, and new members are added within a few minutes.
A member registered with /register or /link is on the sprouts list at once
Community
Members registered in Discord show on the sprouts list right away
When staff register someone with /register, or a member links with /link, their page is now set up at once. It shows on the sprouts list the same minute.
A changed registry entry is posted again in full, and a banned member cannot link an account
Moderation
A banned member cannot link or verify a game account
While you are banned from the Reserve, /link and /verify are refused with a message that names the day the ban ends. The account already on your record stays as it is.
Fixed
A changed registry entry is posted again in full
When your registry details change, your entry is now posted again in full, with the divider, just like a new one. Before, it was edited in place with a short note under it that didn't always get cleaned up.

The bots can be paused while something is being worked on
Notices
A paused command now shows what's going on
While we work on a problem, some commands can be paused. A paused command shows what's happening and what to do next, and nothing you were partway through is lost.
Notices
The bot's status shows when we're fixing a problem
While a problem is being worked on, the status under the bot's name in the member list says so. It goes back to normal once the problem is over.

Passing the apex application now gives you the apex role
The role used to be given by hand, so you had to wait for someone to remember. Now you get it within a few minutes of being accepted.
Moderation
Penalties that bar apexes now remove the apex role
The role used to stay on during a suspension or ban, even though you couldn't play an apex. It now comes off while the penalty runs and comes back the day the penalty ends.
The game server says which penalty is keeping you out
The message used to show only a rule number, which means little without the rulebook open. It now names the penalty, the Reserve and the rule.
Fixed
A temporary ban now ends on the day it says it ends
The end date staff set on a temporary ban wasn't passed to the game server, so the ban kept going after it. The game server now gets the date and lets you back in on that day.
Every decision a suggestion can reach, and messages that say what was decided
Community
Suggestions can be marked maybe later, already planned or wrong format
Before, staff could only mark a suggestion open, in discussion, approved, denied or handled. The forum had tags for the other three but no way to set them.
Community
A decision in the thread says what was decided and why
The message used to show only the number, the decision and whether the thread was closing. It now names the suggestion, gives the reason its own heading, and says when it was decided.
Community
Announced decisions now show the suggestion first
The number and the decision used to come first, so you had to read past both to see what the suggestion was about. The suggestion now comes first.
The suggestion window stopped opening for everyone after the last release. It also offered tags only staff can use, such as implemented and denied, which Discord would have refused.
The window now asks for a title and a short summary, which is what people read before voting. Once it's posted, you can add more in the thread: the full case for it, pictures, or answers to questions.
Fixed
Suggestions are posted in the forum again
Suggestions made since September 17 were saved but never posted, because the forum needed a tag and none was set. They've all been posted now, and nothing you wrote was lost.
0.61.1 to 0.64.0 · 4 releases with no visible changes
Suggest something with a command and the bot opens the post for you
Community
Suggest something without opening a thread yourself
/suggest opens a window to write in, and the bot posts it in the suggestions forum under your name. Every suggestion has the same layout, so the forum is easy to scan.
Community
Vote on suggestions with two buttons
Press the same button again to take your vote back, or the other one to change it. Staff look at the most wanted ideas first, so voting helps more than posting the same idea again.
Community
Decisions on suggestions are posted in the thread
When staff approve, deny or finish a suggestion, the post's tag changes and a message says what was decided. Denied and finished suggestions have their thread closed.
Community
Suggestion decisions can be announced in their own channel
Staff choose where decisions are announced. Each announcement has the suggestion number and a button to the thread, so it's easy to find months later.
Community
Reactions in the suggestions forum are turned off
Only the two vote buttons count, so a post can't show one result in reactions and another in the votes.

The applications command shows when the next round opens
If a round is scheduled, you'll see when it opens in your own time zone, and an open round shows when it closes. Before, a round opening Friday and a switched-off form both showed as closed.
0.53.2 to 0.54.0 · 2 releases with no visible changes
After someone posts, the note is posted again and the old copy is deleted. The thing everyone needs to read is always the last message, not a pin nobody opens.
Messages say "that egg" rather than "the selected egg"
Fixed
Messages say "that egg" instead of "the selected egg"
Ninety messages said "the selected egg" or "the selected character", even though you never selected anything. They now say "that egg", like the rest of the Reserve.
Leaving the server clears your registration as well as your whitelist
Privacy
Leaving the Discord server signs you out and clears your registry entry
Before, leaving only took you off the whitelist. Now your Alderon details, your registry post and your website sign-in are all removed, and your game account can be registered again.
Privacy
Your record is kept when you leave
Your characters, tickets and staff decisions about you are still saved, so you don't start over if you come back. You'll just need to register your Alderon ID again.

A case transcript says what Discord did, not just that it did something
Fixed
Pins and joins in a case transcript say what happened
A pin, a join or a channel rename used to show as an empty line with a timestamp, because Discord sends those with no text. The transcript now says what happened.
Case transcripts now show bot messages as they looked
Bot messages in report channels and discussions used to be saved as plain text, so you couldn't tell the bot from people. They now keep their colored frame. Older transcripts stay as they were.
A staff member can't claim a report they're part of
Filing a report, being reported or being named as involved now stops you from claiming it, by button or by emoji. The refusal says who handles it instead.
A discussion says what it is for, and warns twice before it closes
Reports
You're told when a different staff member takes over your case
A case picked up by someone new used to say it had been claimed again, with no sign the name changed. Everyone involved is now told who's handling it, and the investigation and any open discussion are updated.
New
You're warned twice before a discussion closes
There used to be one warning, an hour before the end. Now there's one at six hours and one at one hour, so you have a chance to answer even if you haven't been on Discord all day.
Reports
The discussion channel explains what you're there to discuss
The staff member handling the case posts their decision first. Everyone named in the report then has a day to disagree or add anything missed, and the opening message now says so.
Reports
Channels are called channels and investigations are called investigations
Report messages called the same thing a room in one place and a channel in another, and called an investigation a post. They now use the words you see in Discord and across the Reserve.
Reports
Channel messages now say exactly what's saved
Lines like "Everything said here is kept" didn't say what was stored. They now say every message in the channel is saved, attachments included, and who can read the transcript after the case closes.
Reports
When staff take your report, you're told what happens next
The message used to say your report was with staff and nothing more was needed. It now says they'll post their decision in a channel, add you to it, and give you a day to discuss it.
The emoji board says what an emoji is for, and that it covers tickets too
Reports
The emoji board explains what a staff emoji means
Each staff member has their own emoji, and it goes on whatever they take on: under the post on a report, and in the channel name on a ticket. The board used to mention reports only.
Reports, discussions and transcripts called their channels rooms. Every message now says channel, like your sidebar. The public or private report screen also names the channel it'll be posted in.
The messages a case sends you say which case they are about
Reports
A message about your case names the case
Messages about your report used to end with a bare link that Discord turned into a large preview card for the Reserve. They now name the case and who's handling it, and the link is a button.
Reports
If a report names you, you never learn who filed the report
On a public report, you're told it was picked up and nothing more. On a private report, you're told nothing until staff decide otherwise, as before.
A closed discussion channel says what was decided before it is deleted
Reports
A closed discussion channel tells you what was decided
When staff close a case, the channel now posts the decision and a link to the full transcript, then is deleted a minute later. Before, it vanished the moment the case closed.
Filing a report reads your choice back before you start
Reports
You confirm whether a report is public or private first
Public reports are posted where the whole server can read them, and private ones open a channel only you and staff can see. Your choice is shown back to you before you fill anything in, with the option to switch.
Each side of a private case reads back its own channel
Reports
Transcripts open once the case is closed
Until then, put anything you want on the record in the channel itself. You're sent the transcript link as soon as the case closes. Staff can read it while they handle the case.
Reports
Private reporters get the transcript of their own channel
Everything said in the channel you filed in is saved and sent to you when the case closes. Staff's conversation with the person you reported is a separate channel, and you won't see it.
A public report is shown in its channel, and a private one stays private
Reports
Public reports are shown in their discussion channel
The report as filed now appears under the opening message, with anything already said about it, plus the case name and a link to the original. Before, the channel just said a report existed.
Reports
Private reports aren't shown to the people they're about
The discussion channel says a report exists and staff say what they need answered, but the report itself isn't posted. Only staff can press the button that links to it.
A restart no longer takes a report you are writing or a case somebody holds
Reports
Your half-written report is saved through a bot restart
Your answers on the report panel are saved as you go and kept for an hour after your last answer. Before, it was half an hour, and a bot restart wiped everything.
Reports
Staff can give a discussion an extra day
A discussion still runs for a day, then the parties can no longer post. Staff can add a day as many times as needed, and doing so after it ended lets everyone post again.
A case has one number, and every channel it opens carries the number
Reports
Case channels are named after the case number
A private report opens in r-0042-report-yourname and its discussion in r-0042-discussion-yourname, so both sit together and are easy to search. Before, they were numbered by how many reports you'd filed.
Reports
Each report shows its case number
The number is in small text at the bottom of the report. The channel, the investigation, the mod log and the website all use the same number.
Reports
Discussions use the case number of their report
Discussions used to have their own separate number, so one case had two numbers that didn't look related.
A discussion channel opens with its opening message in place
Reports
Opening a discussion no longer leaves an empty channel
The channel was created, but the message explaining it was refused, so the channel sat empty. People are now pinged in a separate line above that message, and if it still fails, the channel says so.
The window for naming who else was involved didn't open when you pressed the button. Picking rules failed the same way when a rule had no text yet. Both work now.
The board of who claims what is written for whoever reads the channel
Reports
The emoji board shows who each emoji belongs to
Each emoji now has its staff member's username next to it, so you can look them up. The instructions for staff on picking an emoji were removed from the board.
Reports have their own flow, from filing one to handing it to the key holders
New
Filing a report now uses buttons instead of ten options
/report asks if it's public or private, then shows buttons for who, who else was there, when, evidence and rules. Rules are picked from the rulebook, and nothing is posted until you press send.
New
Private reports get their own channel
A private report is posted in a channel only you and staff can see, and you're asked why you want it private. Public reports go in the reports channel, the same as before.
New
People named in a report can give their side
A button next to the report opens a form for your evidence and timestamps. Each person can use it once, and it closes when staff claim the report.
New
Claiming a report creates the investigation post
The bot writes the forum post with the report, every side given, and each person's past penalties. Staff can refresh the penalties at any time.
New
Everyone involved gets a day to discuss the case
Staff open a discussion channel with the people involved. It runs for a day, with a warning an hour before the end, and then only staff can post. Every message is saved, even deleted ones.
New
Your report shows when its case is finished
Once the case closes, the claim button on your report is replaced by who handled it, when it finished, and a link to the discussion record. Staff can close a case privately if needed.
New
Staff can escalate a case to the key holders
Escalating moves the whole case: the report goes back to unclaimed and the original staff lose access. Key holders see the report itself, and a case can't be handed back.
Being put on the registry now comes with a second message about linking your account
New
You're told how to link your account when added to the registry
Right after your registry details, a second message gives four steps to link your account. That includes the one people miss: stay logged in to the game server while you run the command.
0.38.5 to 0.39.1 · 3 releases with no visible changes
Registering an Alderon ID someone else already has used to reply with "clear it there first", which named nothing. The reply now says to clear the ID from their registry entry.
0.35.0 to 0.37.3 · 9 releases with no visible changes
Staff do your registration, and you used to have to go look for it. Now you're pinged in the registry channel and sent your entry with a link. Later changes reach you the same way.
Fixed
Linking your account now says you're verified
Verified is what you just did, and it's what the rest of the server calls it. Whitelisted is a status we track on our side.
Fixed
Account verification is no longer recorded as a staff edit
Verifying with a code from the game proves the account is yours, so no edit notice is sent. Your entry only changes if you linked a different account than the one on file.
Arriving
Registry entries show only your account details
Each registry entry now has four fields: your Discord name and ID, and your Alderon name and ID. Registration history no longer gets in the way.
The world
Messaging the bot gets you a dinosaur fact
The reply still explains that staff don't read the bot's messages. Now it ends with a dinosaur fact.
0.31.1 to 0.33.0 · 4 releases with no visible changes
The bots were built at different times, so the same thing could work in one and fail in another. They now behave the same, and a restart no longer makes a bot reply twice.
0.12.1 to 0.12.2 · 2 releases with no visible changes
Apply on the website and get the decision in Discord
You fill in your application on the website, and staff review it in Discord. The decision is sent to you in Discord, with no extra form or account needed.
The first Rosa bot brings characters, nests and family trees to Discord
Characters
You can keep your characters in Discord
The /character command creates, edits, lists, shows and deletes your characters. Each character keeps its species, skins and traits.
Nesting
Nests pass skins and traits to babies
Parents start a nest with /nest start and enter their skins and traits. Other players join as babies, choose a name and gender, and roll for what they inherit.
Nesting
You can roll for a mutation every three hours
The /mutation roll command gives you a 5 percent chance at a mutation, and a moderator then applies the skin. The /mutation cooldown command shows when you can roll again.
Characters
Family trees show up to four generations
The /familytree command shows a character's parents, children and siblings. You can get the tree as text or as a picture.
Nesting
An inventory for your nesting items
The /inventory view command lists your items and what they do. Some items raise the chance of a mutation when you use them in a nest.
The map
You can type commands in the game chat
Type !help in the game to see the list. You can see how many players are online, read the rules, get the Discord link, check your location and report a player.
New
Roll dice and look at profile pictures
The /roll command rolls one or more dice with as many sides as you choose. The /avatar command shows a member's profile picture.
Every version starts with a zero on purpose. Version 1.0.0 is the day the Reserve opens in full.
