Rosa Update: September 15, 2026
Pull up a log. The first half of September was a busy one.
Nests, eggs and everything in between
Opening a nest now happens on one screen, one question at a time. Run /nest and it asks who is laying, who is nesting with you and how many eggs. It only offers the clutch sizes your species may lay this season.
Rosa Conservatory
A nest’s half hour now starts when you press Open the nest. Waiting 20 minutes for the other parent no longer eats into your time. The nest post shows the parents, their skins and the eggs left as they go.
Rosa Conservatory
You now take an egg with a button, and pick the gender before the skins are drawn. Choose which skin your hatchling shows. Changed your mind? Give the egg back before the hatchling is registered, and taking it again gives you the same roll.
Rosa Conservatory
A rare roll now lets you pick a condition and a skin that shows it. Albinism, leucism and the rest come as a skin your hatchling actually wears. Rather keep what you drew? You can turn it down.
Rosa Conservatory
Either parent can now bring the hatchlings into the game. Pick where they land: where you’re standing, the nest, or coordinates you type. Rosa checks that everybody is on the hatchling first, so nobody’s adult gets shrunk by mistake.
Rosa Conservatory
You now name who you’re courting, and only that person can join. If they decline, you’re both free to court somebody else right away. The courtship post shows the species, everybody in it and the places left.

Family trees and who’s who
Every character now has a tag, like STYRA-104, that never changes. Four characters called Willow? Type the tag into any character picker, with or without the dash, or go to rosarealism.com/tag/STYRA-104 to open its page.
Rosa Conservatory · Website
Every character page now draws the whole family tree. As many generations as there are, with a picture of each character and who plays them. Press anyone in it to see the family from their side.
Website
You can save a family tree as a picture, or post it in Discord with /familytree. Handy for trees too wide for a screenshot. /adopt walks you through an adoption, and found family sits in the tree the way siblings do.
Website · Rosa Conservatory
Skins are now expressed or carried. Expressed is the skin a character wears, and carried are the ones it can pass on to its young. /createcharacter asks for both, plus the subspecies.
Rosa Conservatory · Website
You can roll a character out of the wild with /spawn. Pick a species and a gender, or leave the gender to chance, and the skins are drawn for you.
Rosa Conservatory
Character pages now list every clutch the character was part of. Clutches are numbered, and the young are listed by name with a link to their own page.

Reports, applications and your record
Filing a report now asks one thing at a time. /report first asks whether your report is public or private, then who, when, what shows it and which rules it’s about. A private report opens a channel only you and staff can see.
Rosa Terminal
Anybody a report names can now give their side, with their own evidence. A button next to the report opens a form for it. The button works until staff claim the report.
Rosa Terminal
Everybody involved now gets a day to discuss a decision. Staff post their decision in a discussion channel first. You’re warned six hours and one hour before the discussion closes.
Rosa Terminal
Every case now has a number, and you can read it back on the site once it closes. Messages about your case say who is handling it, and you’re told if somebody else takes over. A private case can only be read by the people in it and by staff.
Rosa Terminal · Website
Staff can now send one answer of your application back instead of turning you down. The reason sits next to that answer, and everything else you wrote is saved. Whatever the decision, you hear it in Discord with the reason and what to do next.
Website · Rosa Terminal
Leaving the Discord server now signs you out of the site and deletes your registry entry. Your characters, tickets and record are saved, so coming back doesn’t start you over. You just register your Alderon ID again.

A fresh coat of paint, and a few more treats
The site has a new look. A new typeface, the same paper texture on every page and a soft wash of green and gold behind it. Form fields and notices are easier to tell apart too.
Website
Your dashboard now opens with four figures. Your characters in play, whether anything is waiting on the team, whether a penalty is running and whether the game server will let you in.
Website
A new documentation page explains every command. Each command has what it’s for, what it asks for and an example you can type. Press the slash key to search, and sign in to see the commands your rank can run.
Website
The page editor is now four screens, each with its own save button. What you write, who may see it, your pictures and how it looks. You can also reframe any picture in your gallery, not just your banner.
Website
Your page can now play a forest recording and change with the time of day. Nothing plays until a visitor presses the button. A link to your page now shows a preview in your own colors, too.
Website
Every newsletter sent in Discord is now on the site. Each edition has its clips, a full gallery and reactions you can leave. Pictures now keep their own shape instead of being cropped to a strip.
