specimen from the canadian rockies, raised by a successful but aging trobaire and bard--one of which (her mother) was tagged and tracked by an independent research group. grew up healthy, but lost her mother to a hunt gone awry in an attempt to protect their lambeo herd. was raised from adolescence to subadulthood by her father before departing from him and staking out her own claim on a small herd of lambs; later tranquilized and fitted with a tracking collar by the same independent research group that was tracking her mother, ending up with a well-documented life. was returned to the same herd to continue on
gradually molted into black, beige, and white feathers, and showed the inclinations of a bard; eventually met and courted an umbral skald with vivid orange plumage. they had two whelps together, but while their whelps were young, her mate was slain by a pair of torvosaurus that attempted to hunt their herd. she was unable to reach him in time, as he'd jumped in teeth-first and paid with his life.
raised the whelps as a single mother, and after they dispersed and she was able to mourn, shrike attempted to court twice more--both skalds--but they were too headstrong. one was killed by a maip, and she abandoned the other after he proved an unfit mate. roamed as a lone shepherd for a long time, never attempting to court again.
a rival yutyrannus chord eventually took over her herd as she became weakened from age and left her to wander. she ended up finding some poor sheep farmer's herd and tried to claim them as her own, warding off the farmer's dogs and even the farmer himself. he ended up contacting rosa for help, who were quick to fly in, tranquilize her, and bring her into custody. rosa contacted the research group after finding out she was already tagged, but they didn't have anywhere to put her so she was fully transferred into rosa's care. brought to the reserve to live out the rest of her life without disturbing any more sheep
